The Murray–Darling Basin Plan Review is a critical opportunity for all Victorians to have their say on the future of water management in our region. Submissions close on Friday 1 May, and it is important that everyone takes the time to contribute.
Horticulture is currently not well represented in the review, despite its major role in Australia’s food supply and the regional economy. Without proper consideration, there is a real risk of decisions that could significantly impact orchards, jobs, and the long-term viability of our communities.
FGV strongly encourages all growers and community members to make a submission and ensure horticulture has a voice in this important process.
FGV’s full submission is available to read below. More information about the MDBA plan review can be found https://getinvolved.mdba.gov.au/2026basinplanreview
